I am fascinated by the texture and shape of organic forms and with the juxtaposition of
different textures that occur in nature. Part of the process of creating art for me involves
collecting natural objects. My art began as an exploration of found natural objects and has
evolved to encompass art that is chimerical, including an organic object finished with a
handmade component. Part of the goal for me is to create new forms that do not occur in
nature but that one could imagine occurring there. My pieces look organic but go beyond the
original organic component. Feeling connected to my work is a crucial component for me and
is accomplished by using natural objects that I have collected and by hand-working the metal
using the ancient technique of chasing and repousse´.
